Happy 10th Birthday, Jameson!

June 4, 2024

A whole entire decade old! I cannot believe it but, alas, here we are. Jameson Grey was born on a beautiful June morning and came out gorgeous, snuggly, and calm. He continues to be those things, although his calm is frequently interrupted with urges to shoot hoops, play hide and seek with the dog, bother entertain his sister, and run around with buddies.

Jameson can’t wait to wake up each morning. The thought of a new day and another breakfast thrills him and, in my opinion, should be thought of as a beautiful lesson for the rest of us. Jameson is most happy at home and values his daily comforts. He is also currently in the figuring myself out phase of life in which he is trying on some new hats like karate, basketball, and new friends, as well as ditching things he’s decided are meh, like bike riding (ugh … we are trying our best for this one to make a comeback) and salad dressing. Jameson is our daily entertainer, our daily hugger, and our daily alarm clock. When I consider the sources of happiness in my life, Jameson is … I am stuck for a word. Maybe there isn’t one big enough for it.

Happy birthday, Jameson. Thank you for being a part of this world.

*In all of his years, this answer has never changed. With all the sibling squabbling they do, this gives me inner peace. 🙂

This year’s theme was basketball. Jameson spent his morning at basketball camp, then had friends over for water balloons and lunch, and wrapped up his big day with pizza and cake with Grandma and Grandpa. It was a pretty special day for a very special person.

Harper helped with it all. She decorated, made cookies, and made and frosted his entire cake. She is a hero.
He got “the shoes.” All is well in life.

Jameson, may your next year be as bright and promising as you are each day you wake. xoxo
