Happy 4th! Read this!

July 4, 2019

Happy 4th of July! I hope your day is filled with sunshine, friends and family, music, picnics, and sparklers. I hope you soak up children’s smiles and the sounds of laughter.

Life is good here. Each evening at dinner, I ask my kids to share what they are grateful for or what the best part of their day was. We are fortunate, and it is important that Harper and Jameson know it.

Grateful for these kids 🙂

On this note, I recently read a book that everyone should read. It is wonderful and enlightening. Though it is a young adult novel, it can be appreciated by children and adults alike. Not everyone can celebrate independence, freedom, and happiness. This book gave me pause to think about how I can play a role in the lives of children for generations to come, those who have bigger challenges than many of us can ever understand.

This book follows the lives of three children from different time periods. All of them leave their homelands with little to nothing except the hope that life will be better where they land.

Read this and then pass it along to a friend or a family member. You won’t be sorry.

Happy 4th!
