Family Fun Mom Life

Happy 7th Birthday, Jameson!

June 4, 2021

After his birth, Jameson Grey came home from the hospital beneath a double rainbow. If you know him, you know this symbol was fitting. He is the sunshine.

At the risk of sounding cliche, I will state that my mom heart cannot believe this kid is seven years old. When I think of him, I think of him as my little one. My babe. My snuggler. My kiddo who wears his heart on his sleeve and likes simple things like cartoons, jokes, and pumpkins.

I usually say to others that I am the parent of “small kids,” but I think I have graduated from that. Sigh. I am just a parent of terrific kids now. But, small? I suppose not.

Without further ado, please let me introduce you to our new seven year old:

Jameson, what is:

Your favorite color? Blue, black, and turquoise

Favorite food? Pizza

Favorite part of the school day? Specials class, especially art

Favorite TV show? Buddy vs. Duff and anything on KidCity

Favorite movie? Yes Day

Favorite Book? Desmond Cole, Ghost Patrol

Favorite thing to wear? My swim suit, of course!

What do you want to be when you grow up? A WWE superstar

Who is your hero? Harper

What is your favorite thing about yourself? I got stronger this year. (Insert picture of Jameson flexing. I wish his statement was deep and complex, like he survived and grew strong in the midst of a pandemic, but the kid just means he thinks his muscle bumps are bigger.)

What do you love to do? I like to play Minecraft, ride my bike, go to Vail with my family, and play with my action figures

This year, Jameson’s birthday theme was all about Minecraft. This is a new game around here, so Jason and I had to play catch up. I had to do a last minute study to pull off this celebration, but it was a hit. Here’s a peek at the hurrah!

Jameson is definitely part of our family – always sneaking a little snack.

As always, we ordered cake from here. They always do an amazing job! This year, we loved it again. Inside was red velvet and vanilla, as per the birthday boy’s request.

The bakery did the star-tip pattern. We added the mini-figs at home afterward.

Jameson was happy to see his birthday wall.

Creeper turned zombie.

The lava!!!

Ahhhh!

After pizza dinner with Grandma and Grandpa and Nana and Papa, Jameson was ready to do some mining for clues. Jason created a little dig for him that led to his gift. Harper popped in to help.

And, at last, he found himself a new bike!

We topped it off with a little TNT piñata.

Jameson, you are loved. Happy 7th year. xoxo
