Bloom where you are planted Living LoCo

In the garden

June 25, 2024

The flowers are in bloom, and the sun is high. Here’s a little poke around the garden.

Flowers in the front, veggies in the back
In this box: Lobularia (purple), Grandaisy (white and yellow), Snapdragons (not in bloom but are a lovely pinkish peach), Zinnias (pink), Dianthus (hot pink), Tecoma (not in bloom but are orange), Gerbera (red), and Marigolds (yellow)
Beautiful Dianthus
Lilies in the front garden
Daisies really are happy.
Lavender delphinium along the fence
Deep purple delphinium
Delightful pink delphinium
A “Lucifer” plant
Hostas in the shade
A new fence to keep sweet Finn out.
Farmhouse gate
New stone wind chimes

We are also growing some veggies: tomatoes, kale, zucchini, snap peas, basil, watermelon, and pumpkin. But, they are all in their baby stages just yet. I will give a veggie update next month when they have (fingers crossed) grown into maturity. Most things look good except for our peas. The sun has quite suddenly bleached them of their bright and jovial green color. The poor leaves look mint green, but the not the pretty kind of mint green, more like a toothpaste hue. Why?! Also, something is nibbling my kale. Its dark green leaves have holes throughout.

If you are growing things, or trying to, best of luck! What’s in your garden?
