Family Fun Mom Life

Three Things

October 13, 2021
  1. Harper loves being a 4th grader and is digging the opportunities that the big kids get. She is part of her school’s “Safety Patrol,” is raising money for a class tarantula, and is joining the school choir.
  2. She is planning a complete redo of her room as a Christmas gift to herself. Currently, her room is blue. But, she wants it to have soft gray walls and for it to be accessorized with soft pink and white instead. She takes pictures of fuzzy pillows and “just-right” colored items every time we are at Target. We hope she’s on Santa’s Good List.
  3. Harper is currently committed to gymnastics. Her favorite event is vault, though she was psyched to be on the team bars last weekend, too. On a side note, her coach was also her substitute teacher one day this week. Ha! Small world!
  1. Jameson adores math. He is thrilled that his second grade teacher has him started on multiplication. She is rooting for him, and so are we!
  2. Jameson also adores his iPad, much to his parents’ dismay. Jameson’s dream come true might be a full, uninterrupted day of screen time. Bring on all the Minecraft, Mario Cart, and Hot Wheels one kid can handle. He’s also hoping to be on Santa’s Good List this year and that Santa will convince his parents to give permission for a real gaming device. We have already instructed the North Pole otherwise. Luckily for Santa, Mom, and Dad, Jameson is also very into Legos and building and creates all kinds of things in his spare time.
  3. Last weekend, he mastered the front flip into the foam pit at Ninja class. “Of course I did,” he said with a smile and a hug.
  1. Jason just finished fall conferences. In addition to planning and setting up his gym for a heart course unit, he made phones calls to some of his students’ families just to tell them he appreciated their kids. Sweet.
  2. He has been unofficially training for a half-marathon. He makes it look effortless (jerk, amazing, right?!). Though he is not actually registered for a race, he runs his thirteen miles this weekend. Wish him luck!
  3. Jason loves to shop for clothes. You may not think it, because he is usually decked out in athletic gear. But, the man loves a classic sweater or a sharp button-down shirt. Just today, a mysterious bag arrived from LL Bean, addressed to Jason Goldsberry.

  1. I am enjoying my sweet, small class this year (20 students!). I have so many kind-hearted kiddos, and they make me smile.
  2. Today is my Peloton-iversary. I have officially owned my bike for 365 days, and I have completed 318 workouts either on the bike or the app, from cycling to strength to running to yoga. This was such a gift through the Pandemic. I am grateful for it!
  3. Halloween is not my favorite holiday. I love how my house looks right now – all cozy and fall! I don’t want to put up the black and orange. But, alas, time has come. This weekend, we are hanging up the ghosts and witches and setting out the jack-o-lanterns. My people love this holiday, so it has certainly grown on me. This year, Harper will be a cheerleader, Jameson a ninja, I will be Hermione, and Jason is going as Chewbacca. No cohesive family costumes for us – we will be random but smiling!

Until next time, have a peaceful day, my friends.
